Born in Rhode Island, where I reside in rural Foster. I am a self taught artist who found my real passion for drawing when I was still a young child. Furthering my practice, I took as many drawing and Art classes as I could during high school. Bringing me to Rhode Island College where I earned a B.F.A. in their Liberal Arts program, concentrating in Printmaking and Drawing.
In short, how does one find a singular area of interest when they encounter compelling elements in every course of the artistic buffet? Simply, one takes little samples of everything and extracts the particulars which one discovers to be the most desirable. For me, it is difficult to find a Singular Subject of concentration when you are keen to the wide variety of tastes in the artists palate.
One takes little bites, samplings of similar favorites to build multiple bodies of common interests. More common in my work is the figure, sometimes with a focus on the hands which I find to be compelling. Particular attention is paid to the hands because, their gestures and structure are especially fascinating to me. Also, it is in part thanks to them, and through their use that I create my images.
